This inventive 2007 Josh Hartnett vampire thriller was based on the celebrated graphic work by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith, and the film was generally received well even by fans of the original comic (a tall order for films with a strong following of the source material). The premise of a vampire brood attacking a northern village in which the sun rarely rises is a good one, in that it puts the humans up shit creek much more than in your average vampire caper. Plus, Danny Huston shines as the lead bloodsucker.
Don’t miss comic-to-film misadventure GHOST WORLD, airing on Sundance Channel this month.
