Artist
BIO
Victoria Anstead produces projects that encourage societal and individual transformation by bringing together experts from the fields of art, science, new media, information design, architecture and urban planning.
Focusing on issues of sustainability and the environment, the projects make the invisible visible by revealing the man-made and natural processes that surround us such as the technology of high-performance buildings or the efficacy of natural wetlands. By doing so, the viewer/user is informed and entertained, enlivened and empowered to make wise choices.
Anstead has spent the past eighteen years expertly guiding private and corporate collectors through the ever-changing landscape of modern and contemporary art as advisor and curator. Her curatorial credits include: HUMAN=NATURE, eight contemporary artists' take on this fragile and fraught relationship; a delicate balance, artists and the environment for General Electric Corporation; Taromaquia!: Picasso and the Art of the Bullfight and The Horse: Magic, Myth & Metaphor.
Prior to her work in the art world, Anstead was an international banker and management consultant. She holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
