From the archives, watch this 10 minute talk by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle explaining how he came up with Sherlock Holmes (who was based in part on an old medical professor who was excellent at deductions using his power of observations). The esteemed author however seemed more interested in sharing “the more serious matter” of his real life psychic experiences.
