I thought the movie was brilliant. The days after I have seen have only reinforced that reaction. I thought it was tragic film. Yes the movie is timely in its subject matter of his job, but I found that to only be a secondary part. For me I viewed the film as a study in isolation. Particularly I related to the distance, self-imposed, between family at times. It was about how someone convinced themselves being alone was OK (which I don't think it is). And I thought the entire move that she was going to somehow save him. Fall in love. Ground him. And he was willing, but she had a kid. And so all his conclusions about people and love and relationships, and the insignificance, were all justified. Very sad methinks.
