Kanye West glows in the dark

Love him or hate him, one thing is for certain: you’ve talked about Kanye West this year. He’s the arrogant buffoon who bullied a teen girl in front of millions. He’s the rap star who at the top of his game turned his back on hip-hop’s school of thought and made a techno-pop album where he sings. He’s remarkably annoying.

So it seems perfect that like other annoying folks (Sarah Palin, hello) he too is putting out a book. Don’t worry, Glow in the Dark is only a coffee table book. He won’t be theorizing or ranting.

He will be showcasing something he does well: visual design. He’s a master of it from his videos to his personal style to his stage show. The book documents the world tour of the same name. It was written with photographer and director Nabil Elderkin who recently said “I really wanted to show Kanye as a human, he eats, he sleeps, he plays basketball.” He also, like all humans, deserves a second chance.
