As a child of the 80s I was obsessed with three things: Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, and Vanity Smurf. Um, yeah. You do the math.

Out Magazine has listed the The Gayest Cartoon Characters of all time. And, yes, Vanity Smurf is represented on the list. Other favorites of mine making the cut include Snagglepuss, all pink fur and lisp, and Smithers, the out character from The Simpsons.

As the video below shows, they don’t make them like Vanity anymore.
