Pac-Man live: Patrick Runte’s Photography

I don’t speak German so I cannot tell you much about the photographer Patrick Runte. But I did stumble upon his website via Meta Filter and I’m smitten. His live model photographs depicting old video games, like Pac-Man and Tetris, are remarkable and smart.

I found a quote of his online discussing the images:

The work is inspired by OSKAR SCHLEMMER and his idea of the “Triadic Ballet” and the Term “Streetplay.” I wanted to compile old Videogames, which are based on simple geometric forms and make them able to be experienced/felt by the human body. Do you know what i mean? Videogames can not be experienced… they only make you feel like you are doing stuff. In my work the games transform to real “Jump `N` Run.”
