The hanky code
June 22, 2009

Just doing my bit around here to prepare you for all the upcoming Gay Pride events throughout the month of June. And there’s no better way to prep for such an event than to really learn the hanky code.
What’s that? You don’t know that hanky code? Well, apparently, there was once a time when gay bars were so loud and so crowded that speaking was difficult. Maybe some mouths were full. Get my drift? This was the 70s. Anyway, the hanky code is a “a traditional form of signaling to others what your sexual preferences and interests are” via a colored handkerchief in either your left or your right pocket.
You’ll never look at a yellow bandana in the same way again.
