Soul 2 Sole: video collage of sneaker history

Parsons School of Design student David Park created SOUL 2 SOLE for his senior thesis, which explores the history of the sneaker culture. This energetic video highlights the sneaker culture’s interaction and relationship with various pillars that underpin “pop culture,” such as hip hop and b-boying, sports, fashion, street art, and unsurprisingly corporate consumer branding. If you are ever puzzled by lines of kids waiting outside shoe stores… well, consider this video a Cliff’s Notes that explains why they do it.
