Olympic Music Update

So far the press has reported that music on site at the olympic events has been shall we say, less than hip.

Apparently Blondies’ “The Tide is High,” was the backing track for, would you believe, the weightlifting competition. No offense to Debbie H. but “The Tide is High,” is about as much of a “pump you up for a 500lb squat,” tune as John Fogherty’s “Centerfield,” is a “Lights down Li’l Wayne is about to take the stage,” tune. On a side note, why the tat tears Li’l? Are you a Li’l sad?

Another odd choice was the backing track for the diving competition in the water cube, Abba’s “Dancing Queen.” Although “Dancing Queen,” probably has more to do with diving and speedos than “Tide is High,” does with bench presses, it’s nonetheless another odd choice.

A couple of suggestions for the DJ that will help continue the bizarre track selections:

* “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me” – Wrestling
* “Macho Man” – Soft Ball
* “Kiss From a Rose – Judo

and of course…

* “Killing in the Name” – Sync. Swimming
