BIOIneia is located on the western coast of Cyprus in the Paphos region, which has been known for its basket-weaving since Medieval times. Appropriately, Ineia is home to the only basket-weaving museum in Cyprus. The museum is found in village’s heart in a renovated 1911 traditional style schoolhouse. Inside there is a small shop where traditional baskets, handcrafted all over Cyprus, are sold. Anastasia and Helena are two of the local women who have been hand-weaving these baskets and carrying on these rich traditions. |
