BIO

Maria Olevik and Maria Larsson met during their master degree program at Konstfack University in Stockholm. The Marias have been working together for over four years, holding exhibitions all over the world including in Italy, South Korea, and Japan. In 2009, the Marias won a public commission for “In A Tree – when spring comes,” which features their porcelain birds lights, and is in the Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm. The Marias’ studio is housed in an old, empty ceramic factory, Rörstrand, where they continue to find inspiration in the traces of their handmade medium. With their Porcelain Castle exhibit they created a tribute to the craftsmanship and skill of porcelain making using different objects found in the home and natural environments.
