DesignerBIOAnna Sui had been talking about becoming a designer when she was only four years old. As a child she always went fabric shopping with her mom and watched her sew then Anna would make doll clothes out of the scraps. This passion for clothes stayed with Anna as she attended the famed Parsons School of Design in New York. She held her first fashion show in the fall of 1991, which led her to a job at Isetan and opening her first boutique in Soho. Now her brand is international and includes youth and childrens line, multiple fragrances as well as a cosmetic line. In 2009, Anna Sui won the Council of Fashion Designers of America Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, an honor for her contributions made to American fashion. Anna loves to travel and finds it opens her mind to something new that often will serve as inspiration in her work. |
