President and CEO of Baron and Urban, LLC

BIO

In more ways than one, Paul Urban is a product of his own environment. Having worked in his family's upholstery and drapery business since his early teens, he has made his way through the company ranks as frame maker, upholsterer, installer, operations manager, and product designer.

His 30 years experience is deeply rooted in the old-world European traditions and practices which were imparted to him by his father - Ted Urban. Whether creating furniture and draperies to last generations or restoring priceless antiques for museums, it is Paul's meticulous attention to detail - and his passion for the craft - which has earned him the distinction of operating one of New York City's top workrooms.

In 2003, Paul purchased Minic Custom Woodworking, a third generation table manufacturer, and changed its name to Urban LLC. This acquisition provided a broader product range for his clients and was a natural compliment to Baron since Minic shared the same philosophy for quality workmanship. Several years ago, Paul heeded the growing concerns for the environment and made the commitment to address the issue head on. Not only from a personal standpoint but, from a business one as well, he introduced changes in his production facilities that reduced the company's impact on the environment. He has also researched and introduced natural alternatives to synthetic foams, solvent based finishes, and other materials that are known to have an adverse effect on ones health and the environment. As part of this commitment, his goal is to work with like minded manufacturers around the world and share his processes so that others may realize the same results.

Today, Paul shares his life with those that are most important to him; his wife and 2 young children and spends his free time with his first love... Muscle Cars.
