Karen Stewart and Howard Brown launched their eponymous ethical fashion brand in 2002 from Los Angeles, California. The partners were skilled by years of designing for some of the most distinguished best-of-class lifestyle brands including Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, J.Crew, Patagonia, and Burton Snowboards. Inspired by their love and respect for nature and coupled with a passion for design, Karen and Howard perceived a void in the market for sophisticated, contemporary, ethical fashion. The couple was filled with a sense of purpose and determined to pioneer the sustainable fashion movement.

Today, S+B is a recognized leader in the Green Fashion movement with numerous honors and accolades for their design, leadership and commitment to sustainability. The company sells its products through its website – www.stewartbrown.com, and to over 300 retail accounts across North America, Europe and Japan including Anthropologie, Barney’s Japan, Fred Segal, In Toto, Lawrence Covell, Maxwell’s, and Pierre LaFond.
