A long-time advocate of green living, Christy wants to inspire women to make healthier choices. Many aren’t aware that traditional makeup can contain harmful ingredients, which the skin absorbs, potentially causing long-term health concerns. After years of research, Christy has hand-selected gorgeous green products that not only perform at a very high level, they’re good for you and the environment.

Years ago, when she divided her time between New York City and a rural farm in New Jersey, Christy enjoyed organic foods and used all-natural products in her home. But because of the nature of the cosmetics market, it was nearly impossible for her makeup kit to be eco-conscious, too. Christy’s life changed in 2005, when her father passed away from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease.” In rural Texas, her dad was exposed to many chemicals and fertilizers throughout his life, and Christy believes that these harmful ingredients were the trigger for his ALS. His death was a wake-up call. It prompted her to take action by bringing awareness to the benefits of a green lifestyle. Christy decided to make the personal professional. The place to start was obvious: her makeup kit.

Since then, Christy has worked with some of the top photographers in the world. As a high-profile makeup artist, Christy is in a unique position to publicize the eco-conscious cause. More makeup brands are finally catching on, and beauty companies are now introducing a wider selection of eco-friendly, chemical-free products. She hopes this is the start of what will become a significant part of the cosmetic industry.
