CONTRIBUTOR

Aya Kanai

Aya T. Kanai was born and raised in New York City. Her career has been spent working at fashion magazines: senior fashion editor at Teen Vogue and fashion director at Nylon. In spring 2009, she relocated to Los Angeles and currently splits her time between New York and LA. She is the west coast contributing fashion editor for Teen Vogue and her freelance clients include: Adidas, Bloomingdales, Target, Stussy, and Pac Sun. She is inspired by contemporary art and crafts, experimental puppet theater, quilt making, and vintage cars.

Aya's blog will focus on the life and times of a New Yorker in LA from the perspective of fashion, art and creative living. She will interview young fashion designers, artist, shop owners, troll flea markets and explore the inner and outer limits of life in Southern California. Whether in NYC or LA, Aya operates under the belief, "No place like here. No time like now" and she brings that sense of curiosity and lighthearted exploration to all things.
