Andrew Bevan with a fresh Chanel temporary tattoo
I don’t have any tattoos, not because I’m against them (to each his own) but because I’ve yet to see anything that I adore enough to want to remember and honor for the rest of my life. Luckily, Chanel has joined the movement of body art led last season by Rodarte, threeASFOUR, and Jean Paul Gaultier and is planning to take its SS10 runway looks to the streets in the form of temporary tattoos.
Elle is reporting that the transfers will be available on March 1, while others are predicting that we may see them in early February or sooner — much sooner. In fact, my friend Andrew Bevan is already flaunting the iconic interlocking C’s on his wrist, thus confirming my suspicion that the better part of the Teen Vogue staff is already wearing them.

Les Trompe L’Oeil de Chanel (a set of 55 temporary tattoos) is rumored to retail at just shy of $80. The tattoo styles range from logos, hearts, and birds to Karl Lagerfeld–esque heaps of chains and rosary beads. For those who lack financial stability but posses some DIY creativity, I’d suggest purchasing the slightly cheaper and much more readily available set of Sharpie pens.
