Public Sex
Simon Ellis’s debut feature is an unconventional romantic comedy following the saga of Dan (Luke Treadaway), an unemployed journalist who tries to make his name with an expose about a decidedly British cultural phenomenon: “dogging” – public sex in grubby parking lots. Luckily, Dan’s lascivious roomie (Richard Riddell) is the ideal tour guide to Newcastle’s swinging car park nightlife, and soon Dan is trawling chatrooms and arranging hook-ups with “Horny Geordie Lass.” Time Out hailed the young cast’s “spiky, naturalistic performances.”
