Directed by Academy Award winning filmmaker Cynthia Wade, Living the Legacy follows three young students as they separate from their parents and enroll in Milton Hershey School, a residential school in Pennsylvania. The film follows the children during their first school year – a turbulent, dramatic and eye-opening experience for the students and their families. One hundred years ago, chocolate magnate Milton Hershey and his wife Catherine decided to use their wealth to create a home and a school for orphaned children. Today, Milton Hershey School provides an exceptional residential education for 1,800 boys and girls at no cost to their families. In this centennial year, Living the Legacy celebrates Hersheys generosity and vision and tells a raw and honest story of our countrys youngest generation.
