When assertive Asako (Reiko Kataoka) initially spies Katsuhiro (Seiichi Tanabe) one rainy day in Tokyo, she knows she wants him to father her child. Katsuhiro has “fatherly eyes” says Asako. Even though Katsuhiro is gay, this is no impediment for determined Asako. How Asako, Katsuhiro and Katsuhiro's partner Naoya (Kazuya Takahashi) redefine the idea of family in contemporary Japan is the theme of Ryosuke Hashiguchi's witty and profound domestic comedy, which also features an original score and songs by Bobby McFerrin.
