Girl By The Lake

A seemingly idyllic provincial town in Northern Italy hides a multitude of secrets in this thriller adapted from a novel by Norway’s master of psychological suspense, Karin Fossum. Following a little girl’s disappearance, Inspector Giovanni Sanzio (Toni Servillo) arrives on the scene, where he is soon investigating the murder of a beautiful young woman. As in any good mystery there is no scarcity of likely suspects – from the man who found the nude body by the lake to the victim’s father and sister. Andrea Molaioli directs his debut feature.
