In their final screen appearances, Melvyn Douglas and Fred Astaire join John Houseman and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. to play four elderly members of a New England old-boys club in this atmospheric adaptation of Peter Straub's best-selling chiller. John Irvin directs a delicious puzzler that may require subsequent viewings. Alice Krige and Craig Wasson costar.
