Notable performances by Diane Lane and Donald Sutherland highlight this coming-of-age comedy from director Griffin Dunne. Fifteen-year-old Finn (Anton Yelchin), son of a noted anthropologist and a working-class mom (Lane), spends a fateful summer with his mother on the rambling estate of imperious and eccentric Ogden C. Osborne (Sutherland) aka “the seventh-richest man in America.” As Finn is welcomed into this closed circle of wealth, power and privilege, he begins to observe the rituals around him with his absent father’s analytical eye.
