Cass
Jon S. Baird’s coming-of-age British crime drama tells the story of Cass Pennant, a Jamaican-born orphan who was raised in working-class London by a white mother. Alienated and bullied as a young man, Cass (Nonso Anozie) discovers respect, a sense of identity – and an invigorating addiction to the buzz of physical violence – as the leader of a gang of football hooligans. Based on Pennant’s autobiography, Cass was praised by Britain’s Sunday Mirror as “a passionate story of identity and redemption, with fine performances all round.”
