This 1989 British animated film introduces two of the most beloved characters in modern cinema: eccentric and clueless inventor Wallace and his loyal and long-suffering canine companion Gromit. In their premiere adventure, the duo embarks on a trip to the moon when the household supply of cheese runs low. A GRAND DAY OUT and stop-motion animator Nick Park earned an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Short in 1991, but ironically lost out to another Nick Park short film, CREATURE COMFORTS. Oscars would come to Wallace and Gromit in due time.
