Israeli author Etgar Keret and his wife Shira Geffen won the Camera d'Or for best first film at the Cannes Film Festival with this concise and whimsical comedy-drama considering the mysterious, serendipitous connections and existential gulfs that confront us every day. Three women in Tel Aviv - a caterer whose boyfriend has just moved out; a newlywed stuck in a dismal hotel with a broken ankle; and a home-care worker who misses her home in the Philippines - are all, in some manner, lost and confused.
