In recent years Canadian artists Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller have won international acclaim for ephemeral, site-specific audio-visual installations, which rely upon the participation of the viewer. For example, their 2001 creation THE PARADISE INSTITUTE engaged a movie audience to witness a crime playing out in the theater as well as on screen. In this documentary, filmmaker Wiebke von Carolsfeld captures the essence of these mesmerizing collaborations, while also providing insight into Cardiff and Miller's creative process.
