The world of sensational daytime TV talk shows provides the satirical background for this dark British comedy co-created by, and starring, Jennifer Saunders. Ambitious and troubled Vivienne Vyle (Saunders), the host of a raunchy, confrontational pop-psych show, longs to be the next Oprah. However, taking the low road is what earns publicity and ratings, much to the delight of her manic, amoral producer, Helena (Miranda Richardson).
