For Generation Y - the children of baby boomers, now in their late teens to early 20s - have come of age to ever-louder warnings about the state of the planet. It's an eco-aware group, but also a maximalist one, inclined toward buying, eating, traveling and consuming more than any generation before. By blending environmentalism with consumerism, the life choices Gen Y is making right now - how they party, where they go to college, even how they get married - open a fascinating window onto how future generations will care for the earth. In Portland, Maine, musician Adam Gardner and his wife Lauren Sullivan are changing the concert experience through their organization Reverb, which provides green options for touring musicians and their audiences. We'll follow the wedding preparations of college sweethearts Thryn Lee and Gabe Albin, working artists who are planning a celebration that is both ultra-green and ultra-swank. And at Pitzer College, students are learning and living green in the school's new dorm, which boasts the latest innovations in environmentally sound building technology.
