Academy Award®-winning Danish filmmaker Anders Thomas Jensen mixes serious spiritual questions with pitch-black comedy in a droll and witty tale about the nature of redemption. Adam (Ulrich Thomsen), an unrepentant neo-Nazi, is sentenced to do community service at a rural church overseen by a blindly optimistic vicar (Mads Mikkelsen). While surrounded by other misfits -- including a sex-addict, an alcoholic tennis pro and an Arab who robs gas stations -- Adam has reason to wonder if the deluded vicar isn't the craziest of them all.
