The contemporary face of traditional American music is explored in this original Sundance Channel documentary series. In the opening program, "Pickin' My Religion," musicians including acclaimed singer/songwriter Gillian Welch, neo-klezmer clarinetist Andy Statman, young pedal steel player Robert Randolph and the Native American vocal trio Ulali perform and expanding upon the long tradition of spirituality in American music. "Keeping Time" was developed by director Gillian Grisman and producer Alicia Sams.
