Stella (Maya Sansa), a working-class car mechanic, and her bourgeois girlfriend Lenni (Regina Orioli) are the fugitive lovers at the center of Italian filmmaker Monica Stambrini's surreal debut feature. The couple's secret bliss ends when Lenni's domineering mother drops in, and -- with help from Stella -- accidentally drops dead. Suddenly, Stella and Lenni are on the run with a corpse in the trunk and three nasty thrill-seekers on their trail. What's more, poor Lenni can't escape hearing her mom's critical voice coming from the great beyond.
