One of the oddities of the late 1970s was TVs The Gong Show, a cavalcade of talentless exhibitionists performing outrageous acts to public humiliation before a panel of B-list celebrity judges. Gong Show creator and host Chuck Barris (who was also the subject of George Clooneys 2002 film CONFESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MIND) directs this bizarre theatrical feature, which is part postmodern satire of celebrity, part autobiographical fantasy, and part a collection of raunchy acts that would never get on the air during the 70s.
