Amos Gitai, Director
Relying on his past as a documentary filmmaker, Amos Gitai mixes social criticism, comedy and everyday drama for this ironic story of a fictional middle-aged resident of Haifa, one of Israels most diverse cities. Moshe (Moshe Ivgi), a neurotic hypochondriac, is the son of a Jewish mother and an Arab-Israeli father, and like his homeland, his life is a paradox of conflicting moral and political conundrums. With DEVARIM (1995) and KADOSH (1999), YOM YOM is part of Gitais city trilogy. Named Best Feature at the 1998 Jerusalem Film Festival.
