Suburbia, class and reality TV are among the targets served up for satirical laughs in Australia's most successful comedy series. Kath (Jane Turner), a fortysomething empty nester, and her spoiled daughter Kim (Gina Riley) are followed by reality-TV cameras during their day-to-day lives in the Melbourne suburb of Fountain Lakes.
Back from their second wedding in New Zealand, where they said their vows while suspended from bungee cords, Kath (Jane Turner) and Kel (Glenn Robbins) try to settle into their old life. To celebrate, Kath and her daughter (Gina Riley) are off to the Melbourne Cup races, where they literally bump into a number of celebrities. And at the computer store, Brett (Peter Rowsthorn) discovers the company's family-friendly policy has added benefits when he brings baby Epponnee-Rae with him to work. Rachel Griffiths appears in a brief cameo.
