Suburbia, class and reality TV are among the targets served up for satirical laughs in Australia's most successful comedy series. Kath (Jane Turner), a fortysomething empty nester, and her spoiled daughter Kim (Gina Riley) are followed by reality-TV cameras during their day-to-day lives in the Melbourne suburb of Fountain Lakes.
When it becomes apparent that Kath's (Jane Turner) divorce from her odious first husband, Gary (Mick Molloy), was never legal, he moves in to stake his claim. Kath, "one stressed bigamist," fears jail, while second hubby Kel (Glenn Robbins) finds the threesome a bit crowded, especially around shower time each morning. Meanwhile, Kim's husband Brett (Peter Rowsthorn) is volunteering for long hours at the computer store. Could this be related to his new role as father to the lovely Epponnee-Rae?
