Appeared at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival
Warping cinematic conventions with inspired mischief, filmmaker Andrew Wagner presents a metafictional road movie in the guise of a vérité documentary. Wagners mother, father and two siblings play themselves as they drive cross-country to Los Angeles ostensibly to visit Andrew Wagner (who is, of course, behind the camera). As their journey progresses, they fight about the best route and where to eat, and uninhibitedly reveal some extremely personal details, all the while blurring any presumed remaining barriers separating fact and fiction.
