September 2008

Reserve Sunday nights for an all-new season of Asia Extreme™, Sundance Channel's showcase for fantastic and uncanny tales created by Korea, Japan, Thailand and Hong Kong’s hottest cutting-edge filmmakers.

Asia Extreme's fifth season kicks off on September 7 with the television premiere of Korean filmmaker Park Chanwook's Cannes Film Festival Grand Prize winner OLDBOY, a searing parable of revenge and redemption, hailed as "a grand, gritty, indelible experience ... infused with tragic poetry" by Salon.com.

And coming up this month on Asia Extreme:

  • THE RED SHOES - Jealousy, materialism and madness underlie an eerie ghost story inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's classic tale. (September 14)
  • NOWHERE TO HIDE - A loner detective and his partner pursue a gangland assassin in a witty and dazzling tribute to American noir. (September 21)
  • RE-CYCLE - Oxide and Danny Pang (The Eye) present an unsettling journey into a mysterious dreamscape of deserted streets and abandoned souls. (September 28)
Asia Extreme airs every Sunday at midnight.
