| I'm sorry I didn't post here earlier but I just found this site. I like the show a very lot, but was very disappointed with Elvis during the Clinton episode. In the episode Pat Metheny and Charlie Haden play a very moving rendition of "Is This America?" for Bill Clinton and Elvis, but no introduction or background of the song is given. In the episode Elvis talks to the former president and they speak of the work he has done to help the Katrina victims. How come Elvis doesn't tell the former president that Pat Metheny wrote the song after watching on television the devastation Hurricane Katrina caused. It was a very appropriate song to play and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I bet the average viewer had no idea of the relevance of the song ( although this is bad it is forgivable). It appeared to me that the former president had no idea of the background of the song - that is unforgivable - not for Bill Clinton but for the producers of the show. |
