Disposing of Floresent Bulbs Posted on Nov 10 2008 at 9:50am by I'm not sure that everyone knows this because the focus has been on saving energy! Yet the floresent bulbs we use to save that energy has mercury in them and when disposed of improperly they are thrown into our local landfills which are a potential threat to our valley water system.
Just yesterday I was In Sams Club and the CCSD is giving these bulbs away free there, and the warning labels are not even under the caution area of the box. You really have to read them carefully, and people need to know where to dispose of these. This is a serious matter.
