Oil Industry The Bully Posted on Jul 5 2008 at 9:31pm by cean08
Everyday we are hearing how to cut corners on saving gas and making wiser choices in grocery shopping to help make our dollars stretch.

But this is just a small part of the puzzle in the bigger picture of the oil/gas/fuel crisis we're experiencing.

We're in a huge crisis and trying to save on gas, having tighter food budgets, etc., is just a smidgen of an extremely serious and dangerous situation we are facing.

You see we've created a Bully, named “OI”, short for “Oil Industry”.

We've partnered with “OI” in many ways. We use his petroleum product in our everyday living and activities such as:
Gasoline, diesel and propane to fuel airplanes, cars, trucks, ships and for heating
Tires, rubber, asphalt for paving roads
Daily used items such as plastic, synthetic cloth and the list goes on and on

It has been a grand partnership. He produced and supplied the product and we became dependent on it.

Now, “OI” has been very smart in his dealings regarding his much-needed product. He had the vision to see that the more dependent we became of this product, the more control he was gaining in our everyday lives. Lives of people, governments and whole countries.

“OI” has created a vast network of “supporters”. This network of “We have your back” group includes:
Countries and governments who rely on his product. He wheels and deals politics and trade agreements based on their dependence of his products, fuel and energy
Investors/shareholders and those who receive royalties. They support higher prices because it creates higher revenue profits for them
Fellow oil companies who partner with him in his grand vision of continued profits

This is a happy win-win group, “OI” and his supporters. For they have all profited greatly in this supply and demand game they control.

Now reality is this: “OI” and network don't just throw the dice to determine if they will increase the daily cost of their precious much needed product.

This Bully, “OI”, is a for-profit corporation.

And corporations’ goals are to have profitable quarters and year-end revenues. They must forecast their expenses, expansions, profits and revenues for several years out. Yes, this is correct. They must plan for 3-5 years or longer long-range revenue goals. This is what makes successful corporations.

This is why several months ago we heard that gas was probably going up to $4 a gal. And that next year we will be paying $7 a gal. And how is it that they can they predict the cost of gas in 2010?

These increased figures were all analyzed, planned and put into motion by the “OI” corporation and supporters some time ago.

For their continued profits and revenues. They have a sure thing. They supply a worldwide used product. Their mouths water with anticipated revenues. They are the only game in town.

And they've discovered that they can hold this precious commodity hostage by not producing or releasing it at given times. The thought is: “Who can do anything to stop us as we wish”?

This is power. This is control. This is a Bully.

We, the consumers are just being “forewarned” of the up-coming increases so we can get accustomed to the idea and slowly accept it. It’s a psychology thing. We throw up our arms and shake our heads, saying, “What can we do?” And we continue to use this precious product.

It’s all part of the Bully, “OI’s”, grand picture.

And of course next year’s profit margin is already in motion.

Remember how shocked we were several months ago when it became public the billions of dollars in revenue “OI” had from last year?

Well, guess what, we're contributing to next year’s report of billions of dollars in revenue right now. From our pockets to theirs. All for profits. “OI” and his network of supporters.

Yes, today, each time we fill our gas tanks, we are fulfilling their projected revenues NOW that was planned out in the last couple of years. The $7 a gal and higher prices have already been projected into next years revenue goals.

This profitable revolving door will continue year after year due to their aggressive revenue goals and our continued dependence. And remember, this is not a result of a world crisis, war, or natural disaster. This is all in the name of profit for the Bully, “OI”, and his network of supporters.

Are you surprised to learn that “OI” supporters have all discouraged the support of “alternative” fuel and energy developments?

They've put up roadblock after roadblock to prevent the successful growth of alternative fuel and renewable energy sources such as:

Solar energy
Biomas energy
Wind energy
Hydro Power and Ocean energy
Ethanol
Biodiesel
And many other options being developed and available everyday

If competition such as alternative fuel and energy options should arise then we would have choices of which products and services we could use. These alternative sources have tried to emerge in the past, only to be swept into the corners by specific groups or entities.

And of course, we the public, haven't been encouraged to seriously look into alternative energy sources. For oblivious reasons.

Remember the saying: “Competition is always good”. Because
Competition keeps product and service costs in line with competitive pricing
Competition provides us with choices and selections due to our wants and needs
Competition creates new and more efficient products and services

Yes, competition is good for you and I as the consumer.

But wait a minute.

The Bully, “OI” doesn't like competition. He likes the power and clout he has obtained through his much needed and wanted product.

His vast network enjoys the profitable benefits of supporting and protecting him. It’s to their vested interest to stand behind him.

Have you heard the term “supply and demand”? Well, with the Bully, it means he supplies and he demands. And we pay.

And we bow to him.

Thanking him for allowing us to continue using his special commodity. Because without him, where would we be?

Oh thank you “OI”, thank you so much.

Thank you for the high grocery prices, so we eat less and make choices between having meat or pasta because our kids must have their milk and cereal, babies need their diapers and formula.

Thank you for creating higher prices for everyday items and products. I'm looking forward to paying higher prices for tires, prescriptions, household items, etc.

Thank you for having our paychecks shrink week by week. We make choices of which activities we have to cut because now they have become a luxury, such as weekend outings, vacations, evenings out to a restaurant or movies or other family functions.

We eliminate them because our paychecks can't keep up with the daily increased cost of living.

Thank you for allowing us to go to work each day to have our paycheck cover less and less than it did a year ago. Basically, we're earning less each day.

Thank you for jeopardizing the opportunity of students obtaining college educations, due to the raising tuition costs of universities and colleges. Results of increased cost of operations and supplies.

There are only so many scholarships, grants, and student funding programs available. And the number of students needing financial assistance is growing year by year.

Potential students will be turned away due to not enough funding options available for them.

And they are our future, being denied the opportunity to further their education and to become a viable part of our community and country of the tomorrows to come.

Thank you for having company after company either shut down completely or is having massive layoffs due to increased production/operations costs. Or due to the downward economy their products and services are being decreased or eliminated from the family budget.

Thank you for creating havoc in so many lives due to closures and layoffs.

Thank you for forcing our local law enforcement agencies to announce they are restricting the number of patrol cars in our community due to the high cost of gas and how it is affecting their allotted budgets.

Thank you for turning our lives into a daily struggle of just trying to survive with the simple basics of everyday living.

Thank you for turning the future of our children into a land of survival. How will they ever afford their first home, enjoy the simple things in life, raise their children and provide an education for them?

Thank you for allowing us to sacrifice each day of our daily living so that you can have a continued profitable and comfortable lifestyle. From our mouths to you, your family and supporters.

Well, I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of bowing and kissing “OI’s” behind.

This Bully needs the wind (or should we say “windfall profits”) to be taken from his sails.

I’m contacting each and every elected official of our government and demanding they support alternative energy sources TODAY. It’s not hard to contact them. Their e-mail and mailing addresses are on their web sites. Just research through the Internet.

I’m demanding that they:

Commit to their job for which you and I have employed them by our votes, and not for their personal interests as owners, shareholders, or supporters of this Bully called “OI”.

Offer government or utility subsidies, incentives and rebates to all companies and individuals who promote and use alternative energy sources NOW.

California’s California Solar Initiative offers cash incentives on solar PV systems. These incentives, combined with federal tax incentives, can cover up to 50% of the total cost of a solar panel system.

In Germany, the largest wind-power producer, grants are given by the
Government to producers of wind farms and requires utility companies
to buy the majority of their electricity generated from renewable sources.

Offer Government grants to fund research in renewable technology to enable the production of renewable sources cheaper and more efficient

Do not bow to the manipulative ploy of “OI” requests for increased drilling sites. Because this is just his way of a guaranteed increased revenue and our continued dependence to his product.

Besides, it will be years before we see the results of new drilling sites.
And our cost of fuel will definitely increase due to the cost of “expansion”.
After all, you can’t expect these added production expenses to come
out of “OI” projected revenues. We, the consumer, must foot the bill.

I also remind our elected officials that they are our “employee”. We, the people, are their employer. We have voted them to their position and they need to do to their best ability to look out for our daily needs and those of the future of our country. We are their employer, not the Bully, “OI”and his network of supporters..

When school starts in a few months I’m encouraging all schools and teachers to have their students write to their local government representatives, the President of the United States, and Congress.

Because it is our children of today whose future is in jeopardy.

Just a thought: I wonder what would happen if we did a massive writing campaign to all “OI’s” expressing our disapproval of this supply and demand attitude.

It surly would cause disruption to their incoming mail system, you think?

But it would be a loud and clear message.

We can all complain, wring our hands, and count our pennies due to the raising gas, food and energy costs. We have the options to continue moaning and groaning or we can take action.

You and I can make a difference. History books are filled with changes of events due to when the people had finally had enough and stood up and did something about it.

Your voice is loud and clear
Many voices are even louder and clearer
Massive voices move mountains

We need to take a stand and stand firm and committed. Not just for our survival from this Bully of “OI”, but for the survival of our country and our children of tomorrow.

I’m researching all companies and projects that are involved in alternative energy sources. I’m going to help promote them in all ways possible.

I'm supporting any and all elected officials who are taking an active role into promoting and implementing alternative fuel and energy sources NOW.

And I'm encouraging each of you to do the same.

Encourage your family, friends, neighbors, employers, co-workers, and teachers to contact their local and state government representatives, Congress and, yes, The President of the United States to support alternative energy sources.

Ask. Demand for their support NOW. Because the knowledge and technology are already here. NOW. TODAY.

Don't accept our government representative plans to ease “alternative energy sources” into our communities within the next 5 years or by 2017.

Don't accept their excuses of why it will take so long to implement these sources into our daily lives. This just isn't true. We have the opportunities, products and sources available NOW, TODAY.

And it can be done.

The stimulus checks program was implemented and distributed pretty quickly, wasn't it?

Well, so can incentives, grants and rebate programs for alternative sources also be implemented in the near future…NOW…NOT YEARS FROM NOW.

These delays are just another manipulative ploy of the Bully, “OI”, and his supporters;
because they have their projected revenues to protect. We'll literally be taking profits from their pockets.

NO, we need alternative programs NOW. TODAY. PERIOD.

Demand that we be released from the grips of this Bully, “OI”.

All elected government officials are our “employees”. We are their “employers”.

So lets speak up, stand up and make changes NOW. TODAY.

And wouldn't it be satisfying to know that we've created havoc in the Bully, “OI’s” projected revenues?

That perhaps “OI” and his network of supporters wouldn't receive such grand profits.

Perhaps they would have to make changes in their daily lives, you think?

Let the Bully know we no longer bow down to his “supply and demand” strong-arm tactics.

Let’s Go Get ‘Em!
