Assuming that Mike Myers had a good relationship with his father, his statement that "[his] father didn't know of anything so bad that it couldn't be laughed at," or words to that effect is ridiculous. Why is it that when a celebrity states something, it is accepted as truth and something that people should admire or even emulate? For instance, murder, rape, child abuse, child molestation, the Holocaust, Darfur - these things aren't so bad that they should be laughed at? Myers' "talent" is simply overrated - he really isn't funny.

Perhaps I'm jumping the gun here. Since all I am commenting on is a soundbite for an upcoming episode of what appears to be a lackluster and certainly politically polarizing series, maybe Myers expounds on that statement indicating that he never agreed with his father and that he was as ridiculous as his son is.
