At play in the fields of the lord Posted on Sep 3 2007 at 10:27am by This is a wonderful film, although it is debatable as to whether it would have been better to make two films out of the novel. The rampant nudity will put most people off, but Hector used it only where it would have happened naturally. The thread of western people causing great harm every time they tried to help the "backward" tribe of natives is very true. I really liked the way the missionary boy was the only one to assimilate into the tribe and really understand them. Terrific film, but I'm not holding my breath for a commercial DVD...the prudes won't allow it.
