I just finished watching Dust to Dust. The entire time I watched this film, tears ran down my face. I was shocked, saddened, and for the first time in my life, ashamed to be an American.
How can we treat these people this way? "Yes, you're our hero, but we won't help you pay your medical bills because Ground Zero made you sick, thanks for what you did, but you're on your own!"
Those firefighters and police and the other workers deserve MUCH better than this. I for one am very glad this film was made. The truth may hurt but the truth needs to come out. I have told all my friends about this film and I am considering starting a petition to circulate online demanding that the government honor the rights of these people and give them the benefits that they DESERVE, and MORE! |
