I also seen this film over and over again. I was struck by the

obvious induendos occuring throughout. Another thing is, this film posses a stiking similarity to my own experiences. Only, change the place and the ending. I have 3 bros, lived in San Diego and there was a crazy woman who thought everyone can release a gift within theirselves and that mine was greater than others. She was my sitter {ages 6-11, Mrs.Rush}.

Relatively speaking, David Bowie had been my best friend during my teen tears. My oldest brother drugged out on a side street near our home, died from an overdose. Heart just stopped. Had a girlfriend, {several} none of which really mattered to me. Traveled to France at the age of 17, learned a lot about myself in the process. Came back with the mind of a thirty year old. Was kicked out by a real ass of a father {no hug like in the film}. Truley an amazing similarity. I can`t seem to find all those albums. Used to have them all. GREAT MUSIC IN THIS FILM.Alot of people seen this film and can relate. Sundance could prepare it as an English film. Only a sugestion.I rate this film a 4 1/2 {5 being best}Good work Sundance. For getting this out into the open. Chris Austin

I would heartily agree with the reviewer that this film digs deeper into the psyche of a young man in conflict with himself over his sexuality BETTER THAN ANY OTHER FILM I HAVE SEEN thus far. As film it excels also but, more importantly, as a life experience for me it has been exceptional. I am an older gay man of 66 who very much identifies with this man's struggle during the 70's for mine was occurring during that same period.
I just read an article about Armistad Maupin, the famous author of "Tales of the City" and other books who said that after all of his fame and his success his family still does not get it...That has been my experience as well. The alienation or sense of it NEVER goes away and this movie depicts that feeling so well.
My feeling is that this movie should be shown in every high school to every student. Every aspect of it rang true for me.
