I bought my Boateng in London over a Thanksgiving holiday in 2002. The suit was a serious splurge but once I had it on there was no way I was leaving without it.
Yes, the deep jewel purple color is remarkable but it is the fit that is really the standout. When I wear it I feel taller, stronger and sexier. This is no exaggeration since the tailoring gently corrects my posture and I know I stand taller, broader and with more confidence. And make no mistake the suit is like a second skin, nothing is more comfortable.
For those afraid of the bold color, there is nothing to be afraid of. I have received random, very vocal, compliments from everyone from vagrants to contruction workers to clients. The beauty of the suit is lost on no one.
So, just wait until you put on your Boateng, you will understand. I think it's time I got another so I'll be welcoming the House of Boateng to the US with open arms. |

I agree with your comments 100%. I love England and I was stationed overseas for quite a few years there and then I got out and went back over to England and Italy to live for 17 years. I did notice that the Alexander (English)suits that were so subdued and somewhat bland that I had seen overseas in the military stores. They just weren't grabbing my eye, especially for the price.
However, I would love to see some Boateng up in the military stores or Post Exchange (PX). You have to be comfortable with yourself and your masculinity to wear the suits. I can't wait until I can get my first tailor made Boateng. If I have to go back to good old foggy "London Town", to get one then I will enjoy the suit and the ride, back down memory lane.
Peace Out,
