I am truly impressed with this series. I was most looking forward to this pairing, Maya & Dave, given their obvious differences. I was so inspired by their interaction, mutual respect, and insightful words, that I had to register my own profound thanks and gratitude for this show and series. It was beautiful. Thank you, Sundance.

What a wonderful program. The interaction between Maya Angelou and Dave Chappelle was so moving. To be able to capture the inspirational manner in which Dr. Angelou shares her wisdom and the great thirst for knowledge of the very intelligent recipient, Dave Chappelle, was truly magical. I would love to have this on dvd so I could share it with others. - Joan Hager( soory for the two blank messages above - this is the first time I am leaving a message)

I think this was the best episode I have seen since I started watching the series in 2005, hands down! I really enjoyed the episode with the actress Renee Zellweger & journalist Christiane Amanpour from 2005 and the Robert Redford/Paul Newman episode as well.

But this one with is one was just so inspirational. To see comedian Dave Chappelle in the same room/home with Dr. Maya Angelou talking about life, love, wisdom, history, family and their experiences with all of those subjects had me completely fascinated. When Dr. Angelou was sitting in the seat opposite the couch that Dave Chappelle was on and giving him some words of wisdom, I was literally getting tears in my eyes. Her voice, dialect, experience, knowledge and complete sensativity to the moment brought so much emotion to the incredible scene.

Kudos to Sundance, the Iconoclasts series, the director, and most importantly the two guests for an incredible brief snapshot of life and their experiences with their lives.
