I was just reading Gourmet Magazine and saw an add for the show and this "respected" comedian/personality. It is interesting to note that when I agreed to the terms and conditions of joining this web site I had to agree to not use language that was abusive or demeaning... Which begs the question, could Bill Maher join this web site? He is the reason we cancelled our HBO subscription and will be the reason we ask our cable provider to cancel the Sundance Channel. As for Grey Goose and Gourmet, the are two items that won't be needed anymore as well.

We all have our own opinions on Bill Maher and many other things. He is a lot more open to the opinions of others than you are. I'm sorry that you are such an unhappy and angry person. Listening to the views of others is the only way we learn.

Respect is evidently much easier to earn in these circles...and cogent words that don't further loopy liberal worldviews are labeled "angry." Wow. I guess this is what happens when a whole generation is taught not to keep score at sporting events growing up and to exchange truth for what "feels good." More and more I realize the seriousness of what being an "alien" in this world entails. There were so many godly examples when I was growing up that I didn't realize how lost the lost really were...and how blind the blind. Our Creator is the source of all that is good in the world--not democracy or some man-centered philosophy...and it is on His terms, clearly laid out in the ancient scripture. I have KNOWN fellowship with God in Spirit and in truth by following His terms. Bill Maher shouldn't even get to vote until he shows he is able to be a good husband and father (one of the scriptural reqs for leadership). Oh, but he has quite a following...of fools who don't know any better. Keep in mind that I'm not angry, but care enough to shed a little light in the darkness.

First off - not everyone subscribes to 'scripture' or the idea that a male has to father a child in order to be a 'real man.' I'm guessing you're a 'new wave' Christian and ,based on your reference to 'scripture' would imply that Jesus wasn't a real man in your eyes. I don't know in what country (or planet?) YOU reside, but here in the USA religious freedom is a right we citizens all enjoy and, frankly, whatever scripture it is that you adhere to I would have no part of and is not at all what I was taught in Sunday School. The Jesus I learned about was a benevolent soul - and definitly would not have been so judgemental. You and that first person to post may not like Bill Maher - but I and millions of other people respect his views as 'spot on' - I think he's awesome, humorous, and we at our house applaud Sundance for airing this show. I don't like the 700 Club or other similar mass religious shows and ya know what? ... I dont't watch them.

Last nights show with Bill Maher and Clive Davis was wonderful. I couldn't wait to watch it.
I truly enjoy this show but especially this episode in particular for many different reasons.
I am so glad there is someone like Bill Maher. The people in this world need to open their eyes and mind. Everyone should go see Religuous, what a great movie! Wondering if Bill Maher or anyone else has bought the movie Zeitgeist? Netflix now has it available. Great theories within that movie, highly reccommend. For those in the first posting, you sound like the typical closed minded, hypocritical american that got us into the mess we are in in this country. Why don't you turn off your HBO/Sundnace and go take a critical thinking class or two. As for religion, I feel the old addage of "everything in moderation!" JESUS, PROTECT ME FROM YOUR FOLLOWERS! .
For me, I could do away with all the other channels on TV except Sundance and HBO. Love to watch HBO and Sundance with a shot or two of Greygoose! Tonight Bill Maher is on HBO at 11pm est and you can bet I will watch with my Greygoose!
          Bill Maher is a babe!

            mjanem , my sentiments exactly.

We should all focus on being for something positive rather than being against anything. I beleive it was Einstein who said that no probelm can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it. Let's continue to explore our similiarites instead of being devisive.

To piggyback on what ncn3 said, world leaders solve problems though listening to apposing arguments and finding common ground. The best politicians cross the aisle. The best pyschologists excel in listening.

I got to go, time for HBO's entourage. Lets all me pro something positive!

        chuck2,
I am angry - at you. To imply that a man shouldn't vote based on his religious views is EXTREMLY UNAMERICAN. Go away to a country without religious freedom. And I am so sick of Christians whining like they are the minority in this country. They act so rediculously persecuted.

        Religulous is the new scripture.

I saw a great bumper sticker once that said, 'Jesus would slap the sh*t out of you' - a sentiment that probably applies to chuck2 and all his narrow-minded buds.
