I see y'all are airing 'Manufacturing Dissent' again, the right's response to Michael Moore's documentary exposees of a variety of topics, a ridiculous concoction applying a loose gossipy standard to what proposes to be journalism. That your commenting audience previously spoke in praise of this piece of tripe demonstrates that your 'green' stance and understanding these days is only but an affect and an eggshell deep.
Sundance seems to have adopted a definite right-wing policy, not only in this airing, but in your periodic spots narrated by Republican Drew Carey, who, while promoting the benefits of driving a 'green' car, as one measure that Americans can take ostensibly to lower their carbon footprint, in reality drives a Porsche Carrera, EPA rated at 22 highway and 14 city mpg, and supports John McCain's presidential nod which has yet to source and announce its environmental position.
Further, your offerings have all but discontinued the former queer cinema during the Pride month of June, and this June was no exception, with a dearth of films depicting queer struggles past and present, or any semblance of positive queer storytelling.
I'm profoundly disappointed in what Sundance has become. I had to practically whore myself to the local cable commission in order to obtain a package from our local provider to receive your programming. For all this effort to see what Sundance has become in terms of its indefensible rightist/corporatist political and arthouse programming is a profound let down. Shame on you!
